Double Check Valve Assemblies shall be installed at referenced cross-connections to prevent the backflow of polluted water into the potable water supply. Only those cross-connections identified by local inspection authorities as non-health hazard shall be allowed the use of an approved double check valve assembly.
Anti-Siphon Pressure Vacuum Breakers prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage.
